Haiti - Politic : 13 Haitian diplomats recalled to Port-au-Prince

Claude Joseph, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, recalled to Haiti 13 Haitian diplomats from 9 countries including 4 ambassadors and 9 other diplomats.

Ambassadors :

The Ambassadors of Haiti Frantz Liautaud (Canada), Henry Guiteau (Vatican), Patrick St-Hilaire (UN) and Guy Lamothe (Chinese trade mission)

Other diplomats :

Frisnel Azor, Embassy of Haiti in France (Minister Counselor and Chargé d'Affaires);

Ralph Ricardo Jean-Philippe, Embassy of Haiti in the United States (Minister Counselor);

Jean-Bernard Déjean, Embassy of Haiti in Brazil (Minister Counselor);

Dr Guy Métayer, Embassy of Haiti in Argentina (Minister Counselor and Chargé d'Affaires a.i.);

Pierre Laurent Prosper, Embassy of Haiti in the United Kingdom (Minister Counselor, Chargé d'Affaires a.i);

Magdala Généus, Embassy of Haiti in the Bahamas (First Secretary);

Fritz Gaspard, UN Mission (Minister Counselor);

Justin Viard, Haitian Consulate in Boston (Head of Post)

Mrs. Géralde Carré Alerte, Consulate of Haiti in Montreal (Minister Counselor and Head of Post).

Chancellor Claude Joseph made it clear that these were not sanctions but that these recalls were part of the normal rotation of diplomatic staff to make way for a younger and competent generation who must gain experience in mission abroad.

He underlined that the recalled diplomats, having between 10 and 23 years of career will now put their experiences at the service of the Ministry to strengthen the structures.
