Haiti - FLASH : Fire at the Town Hall of Petit-Goâve

During the night of July 8 to 9, 2020, unidentified individuals set fire to the tax and accounting department of the Town Hall of Petit-Goâve.

Archives, furniture, paychecks of the Boards of the Communal Sections (CASEC) and of the Administrations of the Communal Sections (ASEC), 3 desktop computers, 2 printers, Administrative files, reports, accounting registers among others were destroyed by fire...

In addition, these individuals attempted to burn down two other premises housing the administration and the municipal engineering.

A quantity of fuel was noticed on the town hall's courtyard. According to many observers, this criminal act was planned and targeted.

Justice of the Peace, Me Jasmin Valembrun demands the opening of an investigation with a view to apprehending the culprits.

It should be noted that no municipal security officer was on the scene at the time of the incident.
