Haiti - Communication : Latin American Press Day
On the occasion of the Latin American Press Day, this Tuesday June 7, 2011, Alain Pierre, Secretary General of the Journalists Association of South-East (AJSE) and journalist, has praised the courage of journalists of the country who do a professional job in very difficult circumstances in spite of everything.

The Secretary takes advantage of this day, to report a dark cloud that settles on the work of the press since the last election. In addition, after the Installation of the new Government, the press became a target for an sector who wanted to control the information conveyed in the interest of the population, by journalists "It is inconceivable that the authorities of the department of the South-East want to give dictation to the journalists when the information does not go their way" he deplored.

Alain Pierre, indicated that the quest of the freedom of expression in Haiti, is a long struggle by journalists across the country, many of them have succumbed so that the press today, can exercise its function freely.

In a message sent to the journalists of South East Department, Alain Pierre invites its confreres of microphone, to show solidarity to preserve the freedom of expression. Reiterating the commitment and determination of journalists in the region, to continue to work in the same mission: to educate and inform people, he asks for the cooperation and the understanding of the latter.
