This Sunday at 3:44 am and 24 seconds an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.9 on the Richter scale was recorded to the northeast of Borgne (Dept. North).

The epicenter was located at 19.958° North 72.454° West at sea, at a depth of 10 km, 17 km North-East of Borgne, 35 km North-west of Cap-Haitien (North Dept.) and 150 km north of Port-au-Prince (West department). The earthquake was noticeable in the northern region of the country.

The regional office of the Directorate of Civil Protection did not report any damage or loss of life.

Capois gathered on the Place de la Cathédrale after an earthquake felt in Cap-Haitien creating a certain panic in the Christophienne city.
