Haiti - Health : Details of the rumors of Covid-19 within the Ministry of Interior

Given the extent of rumors of contamination by the Covid-19 coronavirus, within the Ministry of the Interior and Territorial Communities (MICT) and the confusion that this false information maintains, the Ministry wishes to clarify that only one 40-year-old staff member has been registered and confirmed positive for Covid-19 coronavirus. Specifying "[...] because of this case within a technical service of the Ministry, the authorities of MICT in consultation with the Ministry of Public Health proceeded to the total quarantine of the service. This measure, in accordance with the relevant protocol, therefore concerns employees who have been in direct contact with the subject or identified as being potential contacts of the latter.

In addition to this home quarantine, affected staff members will also be tested after 9 days before being allowed to return to work. Fumigation and disinfection operations, in particular with chlorine, were also undertaken at the level of the central building of the Ministry on May 17 [...]"

The Ministry finally reassures as to the arrangements put in place to ensure the best and in accordance with epidemiological surveillance procedures, the safety of its staff and service seekers in the face of Covid-19.
