Haiti - Politic : Rouzier will not be ratified today

The ratification session of the Prime Minister-designate, Daniel Gérard Rouzier, which was scheduled for Wednesday June 1 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-3063-haiti-politic-ratification-of-rouzier-this-wednesday-june-1st.html did not and will not take place (normally). It would seem that some parliamentarians wonder, under which constitution the session would be held, that of 1987 or that amended.

Already yesterday, a group of deputies had conditioned their participation to the publication of the amended constitution in the official newspaper, Le Moniteur.

"However, if the corrections made to the amendment of the Constitution are not first published in Le Moniteur, the session will not take place", warned yesterday the deputy Lareche, adding "that it is necessary that the President Martelly publishes the amendments before that parliamentarians to engage in the process of ratification of the Prime Minister designate and his general policy statement"

For his part Sorel Jacinthe, President of the House of Deputies urge the Head of the State, Michel Martelly, to send the corrected text to the National Press of Haiti for publication.

According to other sources, negotiations are still ongoing, especially at the level of the Parliamentary Group of the Renewal (GPR).
