Haiti - Security : Graduation Ceremony of the 22nd promotion of the PNH
Tomorrow May 20, 2011, will be held the graduation ceremony of the 22th promotion of the Police Nationale d'Haiti (PNH) in presence of Mr. Mario Andresol, Director General of the Police Nationale d'Haiti, Jean Miguélite Maximé, Inspector General of the Academy and Mr. Marc Tardif, Commissioner of UN Police (UNPol).
The ceremony will conclude the end of the formation of 7 months, which was provided by the UNPol to 877 police recruits. 817 boys and 60 girls, who soon will be assigned to various units of the PNH throughout the country such as: administrative police officers (417), prison officers (300), Coast Guard (60) and control agents against drugs (100).
In accordance with the request of the the PNH, the new police recruits will undergo additional training of 12 months on the ground. This program aims to provide to these trainees police officers the training and the mentoring necessary for a successful transition to their respective functions. This will be the first time that such initiative is put in place since the implementation of reform plan of the PNH. This program has been developed and will be supervised by the UNPOLs serving in the Police Academy.
