Haiti - Economy : Towards the inclusion and financial empowerment of Haitian women

Monday at the Hotel El Rancho, Jean Baden Dubois, the Governor of the Bank of the Republic of Haiti (BRH) accompanied by Myrtho René, member of the Board of Directors participated in the 3rd Edition of the Economic Forum of Haitian Women, which took place around the theme "Women Driver of Sustainable Development".

At the opening of the Forum, Governor Dubois was honored for his support of the Chamber of Commerce of Women Entrepreneurs of Haiti (CCFEH) and his recognized leadership in the fight for the inclusion and financial emancipation of women.

In his speech, he stressed that the Bank of the Republic of Haiti (BRH) institutionally supports the application of the Denarau Action Plan which aims to promote the development and implementation of smart policies and regulations by members of the "Alliance for Financial Inclusion" (AFI) network.

According to the Governor, "The AFI's Denaurau Action Plan, of which BRH has been a member since 2011, will allow network members to create an enabling environment that will accelerate the financial inclusion of women."

In this sense, the BRH has taken measures to invite the institutions to collect and process sex-disaggregated data. This will help better guide financial inclusion policy decisions and strategies for women's financial empowerment.
