The United Arab Emirates (UAE) announces that the $50 million Caribbean Renewable Energy Fund (UAE-CREF) has entered the second cycle of its three-year plan to build renewable energy projects to combat global warming in 16 Caribbean countries.

New development and financing agreements have been signed with the Dominican Republic, Haiti Guyana, Grenada, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Trinidad and Tobago and Suriname.

As part of these new agreements, a project of solar photovoltaic garages and roofs will be built in the Dominican Republic; a hybrid photovoltaic solar energy project with batteries will be developed in the city of Dondon in Haiti; a solar photovoltaic solar plant with batteries will be built on the island of Wakenaam, in Guyana and a solar photovoltaic solar project with batteries is planned in Carriacou, Grenada among others...
