Wednesday, the day after a meeting of the Superior Council of the National Police (CSPN), the Prime Minister ai Jean Michel Lapin, also Head of the Superior Council, assured that in the coming days the National Police of Haiti (PNH) would receive new equipment in order to have the means to ensure the safety of the population.

He mentioned in particular an order for equipment and the finalization of the formalities to import weapons of war and ammunition so far under embargo for Haiti, which will allow the PNH to face the heavily armed gangs and restore security in the areas they control.

He also mentioned armored vehicles, shields, helmets, bulletproof vests without however revealing the quantity of this equipment nor the sums committed by the Haitian State for the acquisition of this equipment.
