Haiti - Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games : The senior female selection on a preparation course in Houston

The National Senior Women's Selection, engaged in the last phase of the qualifiers for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic football tournament, will leave Port-au-Prince this Tuesday for a preparation camp in Houston, Texas from January 14 to 26, just to put the Grenadières at the Top their shape and that they can adapt well to the climatic and sporting requirements that await them.

The Haitian Football Federation (FHF) has committed to bring the Grenadières to Houston, host city of the organization of the last phase of the playoffs of the Tokyo 2020 women's tournament in the CONCACAF zone, 14 days before the start.

This preparation camp will be punctuated by two friendly matches; on the 20th, the Haitian team will face their Canadian counterpart 8th in the FIFA general classification (women's football) and 2nd in the CONCACAF zone, then they will compete on January 24th with the team from Texas A & M University, a female university formation .

Recall that Haiti is in Group A with the United States which it will face for its first match on January 28 before playing Costa Rica on 31 and and completing this first group phase against Panama on February 3.

This is a year that promises to be exciting for Haitian Football. The FHF makes a solemn commitment to take our football to higher heights every day, working towards the constant rise of our national teams in the international hierarchy.

The FHF in the idea of getting out of the second stage team cycle of the female football hierarchy in the area has set up since 2011 an elite program which consists of prospecting and recruiting very young girls and boys every year (9-10 years old) through academies operating in the four corners of the country to bring them to "CAMP NOUS", a structure of excellence which gives classical school training to children while inserting them into a high-level program sportsman, after seven years the Young Haitians have exceeded the level of the Caribbean and even of Central America even coming to challenge the "Tenors" of North America; Thus last year the female selection of the under 20s held in check the USA forcing them to penalties and beat Canada to participate in the U20 world cup which took place in France.

Women's football has changed course for some time, with the establishment of an iron discipline developed a high level mind, cultivated over time, a philosophy focused on sacrifice, discipline, self-giving, in short a culture rooted since the training, which was lacking for the female teams who judged the selection as a reward when now the girls have been trained to take advantage of each stage. This tournament will be for our young Grenadières, the opportunity to continue their learning, to progress, to assess themselves and to make their mark to jump even further.

"The girls will give everything, they have nothing to lose but everything to gain, they will gain experience, grow in maturity, and also fine-tune their form for future youth competitions.

Today, despite all our plans to put Haitian football on the world map, considerable efforts still have to be made. Our king sport awaits unwavering support from sponsors and the twelfth (12th) man to continue growing further," writes the FHF
