Haiti - DR : The PNH and the Dominican police will join their efforts

In order to control smuggling, drug trafficking and transnational crime, the Regional High Command of the Haitian National Police (PNH) and of the Dominican Republic (PND) met during more than an hour last week at Villas Codevi hotel in Dajabón.

The Haitian delegation was chaired by the Commissioner of Administrative Police of the province of Ounaminthe Moncher Biio and for the Dominican Republic by the Regional Director of the North West Police, sitting in Valverde, General Boris Goico.

Commissioner Biio said that they had asked the Dominican authorities to collaborate to seek and arrest Haitian criminals in Haiti, who later found refuge in the Dominican Republic in order to escape Haitian justice.

For his part, General Goico asked the Haitian authorities to help control motorcycles, cattle and horses stolen in Dominican territory that are transferred to Haiti.

At this meeting, which was also attended by Mr. Harel, responsible for the security of the Codevi Free Zone and Colonel Osvaldo Bovanagua Peña, Commander of the Department of the National Police of Dajabón, it was also discussed the issues of Bilateral interest for both countries, especially cooperation to stop Haitian citizens seeking to enter the Dominican Republic illegally and daily ...

At the end of this meeting the two parties agreed to join their efforts to work hand in hand and coordinate their actions in order to solve the bilateral problems, in particular the smuggling of goods which wrongly affect the economy of the two countries.
