The National Network for the Defence of Human Rights (RNDDH) has learned with indignation that an invitation was launched in the ex-president dictator Jean-Claude Duvalier, in order to participate, this May 14, at the inauguration of the new Head of State, Mr. Joseph Michel Martelly.

By launching such an invitation to former President Jean Claude Duvalier, in the total disregard of the tens of thousands of victims, the elected President intend to inaugurate his five-year term under the sign of the forgetfulness and impunity ? the RNDDH raises the question.

This invitation, launched to the former President for Life and dictator Jean Claude Duvalier represents an obstruction to the justice, a slap to the memory of tens of thousands of people killed or missing, says the network of human rights.

In no way, this invitation promotes the independence of the judiciary and is contrary to the outcome of the criminal investigation opened against the former dictator Jean Claude Duvalier concluded the RNDDH.

So far Jean-Claude Duvalier did not make any official announcement on his participation or not to this ceremony.
