Haiti - FLASH : Justice takes action against perpetrators of violence !

Eddy Jackson Alexis, the Secretary of State for Communication informs that the police authorities are working to restore order in the country and that the judicial authorities are hard at work to prosecute and drag in front of justice, the alleged perpetrators of violence and public disorder throughout the country recorded in recent days during non-peaceful protests.

As a result, about 20 warrants were issued against individuals clearly identified as being the main perpetrators of acts of vandalism, theft and destruction to the detriment of the Haitian State, recorded during the recent protests of the opposition.

The Government Commissioner of Port-au-Prince instructed the head of the Central Directorate of Judicial Police (DCPJ) to conduct investigations into these acts of violence and the attempt to fire the Embassy of Canada of the Sunday, October 27, 2019. In this sense, notices of research have already been issued against two individuals known as "Killick" and "Kadafi".

In addition, the Government Commissioner also ordered the DCPJ to launch a search against the named Benjamin Wilkenson, alleged perpetrator of violence and attempted assassination against the Director General of the National Center of Equipment (CNE), Kenton Louis at the level of Arcahaie.

Bringing warrants were launched among others against the named "Shelove" (Gressier), Maxo Guerrier (Arcahaie), Valery Révolus (Gressier), Robens Nelson (Gressier), Wilfrid Barthelmy (Gressier) for looting, criminal conspiracy, armed robbery, destruction of property to the detriment of the State.

Through these measures and many others, the Port-au-Prince Public Prosecutor's Office and the National Police of Haiti (PNH) intend to create a safe climate throughout the country, as the nd of the year holidays approach.

The police and judicial authorities also take the opportunity to recall that the right to protest, enshrined in the Haitian Constitution and the laws of the Republic do not constitute a right granted to protesters and other malicious individuals to violate individual freedoms, especially the freedom of movement of compatriots who intend to face otherwise current reality.
