Saturday, at the funeral of the journalist Néhémie Joseph murdered on October 10th https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-29036-icihaiti-insecurity-unesco-condemns-the-killing-of-journalist-nehemie-joseph.html , organized in the public square in Mirebalais, one of the celebrants of the ceremony said "The death of Néhémie Joseph invites us to reflect on the value of his sacrifice, to evaluate our responsibility and to decide the future of Haiti [...] his departure must not discourage the youth in the pursuit of the struggle for change [...] It is up to us now to build the future, which he dreamed and for which he sacrificed everything [...]"

At the end of the ceremony, as the funeral procession was going to the city's cemetery, groups of young people demanding justice for the journalist's family erected fiery barricades. Residents and funerals began demonstrating to demand the departure of President Moïse. Several parliamentarians and opposition leaders were noticed during the demonstration.

Tension quickly increased in the city where other groups of protesters blocked several access roads to the city while many gunfire were reported while the panicked population was deserting the streets...

Clashes took place between agents of the Departmental Unit of Maintenance of the Order (UDMO) came to restore public order, which welcomed by throwing stones responded by throwing tear gas and firing in the air with live ammunition to disperse the protesters... At the end of this day of tension, the provisional assessment is of at least 7 wounded ones of which an of the UDMO...

The spokesman of the National Police of Haiti (PNH) of the Central Department said that the Police would not tolerate that malicious people make the law in the department...
