Haiti - Politic : More than 200 organizations from more than 20 countries support the fight in Haiti

A collective of more than 200 human rights organizations, from more than 20 countries (Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Guatemala, Honduras, Martinique, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Trinidad and Tobago, Uruguay, Venezuela and some others came from United States, France and Hungary) wrote an open letter to the Haitian people, expressing their solidarity and support in their quest for the resignation of President Jovenel Moïse.

Among the signatures there is that of the Argentinian Nobel Peace Prize winner, Adolfo Pérez Esquivel, who won the prize in 1980 for his work on human rights in Latin America.

"From the four corners and the most diverse sectors of our American continent, we wish to express our solidarity and support for the fight you are waging, both on the streets and in other ways, for just and urgent demand [ ...]

"This is a claim that rises like a deafening cry, calling for the resignation of President Jovenel Moïse, his government and his parliament because they no longer have any legitimacy and ability to govern [...]

"We make your claim to the UN, the OAS, the governments of the United States and the entire Core Group [...] We demand from these powers that they abandon their mistaken qualification and their demonization of Haiti and respect your right to self-determination [...]"

Concluding "Sisters and brothers Haitians, you said : it is enough, and we, the peoples of the region, we say that is enough with you. Always illuminating the ways of liberation from the slavery of yesterday and today, in solidarity with all peoples in struggle, you are not alone. Today, the future of Our America is at stake in Haiti, your struggle is ours !"

In addition, these Latin American organizations reject the deployment of the United Nations Integrated Office in Haiti (UNHIB) a new special political mission from October 16 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-28089-haiti-un-in-october-no-more-peacekeeping-armed-force-in-haiti.html
