Haiti - FLASH : All officers of CIMO ordered in anticipation of possible riots

Following the announcement of the Government to adjust upward the prices of Diesel at the pump https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-28778-haiti-flash-upcoming-increase-of-diesel-price.html (without specifying a date), by order of the General Direction of the National Police of Haiti (PNH), all the police officers of the special unit of the Intervention and Maintenance of the Order (CIMO) are ordered to stay at their respective bases until further notice to deal with potential unrest that could be related to the increase in the price of diesel at the pump, as was the case for the attempted increase in July 2018 which caused 3 days of riots https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-25055-haiti-flash-heavy-balance-of-riots.html , before the withdrawal of the increases of the Government

Text of NOTICE to CIMO :

"September 18, 2019

1.- It is brought to the attention of all CIMO police officers that, under the command of the Director General of the PNH, they are consigned to the pemises of the body as soon as the publication of this notice Until new order, in order to cope with possible unrest that could be linked to the upcoming rise in the price of petroleum products.

2.- Any offender will be severely punished according to the Rules of General Discipline of the PNH.
