Haiti - Elections : 19 elected contested, have taken legal action against the Haitian State

While the parliamentary work of the 49th Parliament began, 17 deputies and 2 senators elected by decision of the National Electoral Complaints and Challenges Bureau (BCEN), whose names were not published in the official newspaper "Le Moniteur" [following the allegations of fraud], have taken legal action to force the Haitian authorities to assume their responsibilities and enable them to take their position in Parliament.

Me Osner Févry, the lawyer for these elected officials, reported that they have brought a referee action, Monday, May 2 against the Haitian government. The lawyer Osner Févry claims of the judge Gabriel Domingue, the grant, by the court of an authorization, allowing them to lend oath under Article 754 of the Code of Civil Procedure.

The lawyer of the Public Ministry (the Haitian State) asked the judge Domingue to declare the court incompetent to address this issue, demand rejected by the Judge Dominique which requests the complainants to file their complaints and expect the court order within the time fixed by law.

Anthony Dumont, deputy elected and contested in the constituency of Leogane, demand to the Head of State to assume his responsibilities by publishing his name and those of 18 other elected in the "Le Moniteur", "it is no question to follow the partisan report of the OAS..."
