On Friday, Edwing Charles, the Minister of Youth, Sports and the Haitian Cycling Federation (FHC) officials evaluated the preparation process of the organization of the Caribbean Cycling Championship, a major international event that will take place in Haiti now 84 days (October 25 to 27, 2019).

Faced with concerns about the repair of certain sections of the path, the accommodation of the participating athletes and their delegation, the climate of insecurity and the promotion of the competition, the Minister Charles considered it essential to intensify his accompaniment to this Championship which will bring together some 200 runners from 27 countries, and is committed to contact and sensitize other sectors that could contribute to the full success of the organization of this competition.

"Starting Monday, we will take our pilgrim's staff to meet the mayors of the communes concerned, public officials, members of civil society in general to invite them to become more involved in the organization of the championship," said the Minister Charles who believes that the organization of a competition of this magnitude should mobilize all energies, because there is the image of Haiti.

This championship will take place from October 25 to 27, 2019, on a course of 120 km, on two departments (West and Artibonite). From the Côte des Arcadins to Champs-De-Mars. The cyclists will cross the towns of St Marc, Arcahaie, Cabaret, Croix-Des-Bouquets, Cité Soleil, Delmas and Port-au-Prince.

Some 200 cyclists and their technical teams from 27 countries of the Caribbean and the world are expected in Haiti. For more than 3 hours the event will be broadcast live on national and international television.
