Haiti - Politic : Swearing in the Senate, eventful...
The validation of powers and the swearing of 9 legitimate Senators whose name was published in the official gazette "Le Moniteur", took place yesterday Tuesday, April 26. Two Senators contested, still waiting for the results of investigations of the Joint Mission OAS/CARIOM (JEOM).

The session was interrupted several times, following the intervention of the Senator Edmond Beauzile (Centre) who has expressed doubts about the election of two new Senators Jocelerme Privert and Saint-Vil Francois Lucas of ruling party INITE. After 3 hours of discussion, the validation of these Senators, has been submitted to the vote. 10 Senators voted in favor, 2 against and 4 abstained [The newly elected do not participate in the vote, their powers were not yet validated.]

Monday, 79 deputies out of 96 saw the validation of their powers and have sworn. 18 other Deputies whose names have not been released provisionally into "Le Moniteur", are also waiting for the results of the investigation of the JEOM, who, in principle, should communicate its findings yesterday...
