Haiti - FLASH : Jovenel Moïse comes out of his silence

Wednesday, at the ceremony of the 24th anniversary of the National Police of Haiti (PNH) at the police academy on the road of Frères, President Jovenel Moïse delivered a speech where he underlined "[...] The police is one of the symbols of the Nation. When the bandits attack the police it is the whole police institution that they attack, it is the whole Nation that they attack. The enemies of the police are the enemies of the State. When a person or an institution defends the bandits against the police, the whole nation is trailed in the mud. There is no peace without police. There is no democracy without police [...]"

Before denying the allegations contained in the 2nd report of the Superior Court of Audit and Administrative Litigation (CSC/CA) on the management of the Petrocaribe fund citing President Jovenel Moïse published last May 31 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-27879-haiti-petrocaribe-flash-csc-ca-implicates-jovenel-moise-in-a-case-of-embezzlement.html who quotes the name of the President evoking "A misappropriation scheme"

"[...] Your President has never been involved in corruption. It is up to justice to do its job, to conduct the investigation as it should be, the people who have mismanaged or use the money of the State will have to respond to justice, in a fair trial and fair, without persecution [...] President Jovenel Moïse can not betray you. The situation is complicated indeed, the files are numerous and complex. But remember that I am a peasant's son who never betrays, son of those who are always victims, those who are always exploited, despised."

"[...] Haitian people, my compatriots, our country is in a state of degradation [...] this situation does not date from yesterday or the day before yesterday, it is there for a long time. I am happy because there are more and more citizens, more young people who understand the need to have big changes in the political, economic and social system of the country [...]

[...] I know that the system is responsible for the bad situation we are experiencing today. But we must not forget that this system is very tough [...] What is the most complicated and the most dangerous in this system is its ability to turn the executioners into bandits and victims into executioners. The system also has the capacity to turn the executioners into victims [...]

[...] Instability, destabilization, dechoukay are the means and strategies used by this system to reproduce each time it is called into question. In this way, the rich become even richer in the transition, and in the confusion in which pass subsidies, privileges and smuggling and the poor become even poorer"

adding, "I have only one choice, to fight for the voice of these people. We can not succeed in this system. We know its strength and power, but my fight is yours, Haitian people. Se sa ki ban m kouraj ak detèminasyon pou m ale lwen avèk li "

Reiterating in conclusion his appeal to the economic elites, intellectuals and other organized groups of society who demand his resignation, rather to seek a solution with him to get the country out of the crisis.
