Haiti - Politic : Mexico congratulates the people and Government of Haiti
On the occasion of the official publication of the results of the second round of elections, the Government of Mexico congratulates the people and Government of this nation sister for the proper conduct and the success of this electoral process.

Mexico welcomes in particular the elected President, Michel Martelly and expressed its best wishes for success in his great responsibilities, reiterating his intention to continue to strengthen friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries.

The Mexican Government was pleased to have had the opportunity to support the Joint Electoral Observation Mission OAS/CARICOM (JEOM), through the Federal Electoral Institute (IFE) and to continue its cooperation in the reconstruction of Haiti. Mexico also expresses its gratitude to Haiti's Provisional Electoral Council and the international community for its support at all stages of the process. Emphasizing the important support of missions of experts to verify the vote count, as well the contribution of the UN Mission for Stabilization in Haiti (Minustah)

"This election, opens the possibility, under the leadership of President-elect Michel Martelly and ongoing support of the international community, to initiate a new stage in the development of Haitian people."
