Following the work of the intelligence services, agents of the specialized body for the security of land borders (CESFRONT) accompanied by the public prosecutor's office closed a fake Haitian consulate clandestine in the district of Hoyo de Lima in Dajabón (North West of the Dominican Republic).

During this operation, the Dominican authorities arrested several Haitians who worked in this false consulate where they sold to their compatriots false passports, visas and other falsified official documents, to be able to enter the Dominican territory illegally.

Fake passports, official letterheads, many seals, various equipment to produce false documents and visas, cell phones and a certain amount of money were seized.

Haitians arrested will be brought to justice to answer for their crimes and several investigations will be expanded to stop accomplices and dismantle this network of forgers, said a police source.
