Haiti - Weather : Revision of seasonal forecasts for the Caribbean

Experts from the Caribbean Climate Forum announce that according to their analyzes, seasonal forecasts for the Caribbean have evolved and they now announce rainfall totals normal to slightly above the usual values for the May-June-July 2019 quarter.

However, in the West Indies, the trend remains in deficit, temperatures are expected normal to warmer.

However, it should be noted that these analyzes are qualified by other experts who recognize that even if the climatological rainfall in the coming months is expected to increase in some areas, general models continue to forecast below-normal rains for the quarter.

In summary, in the tropical Atlantic, the sustained tradewinds regime will continue for the next three months, which will accentuate the evaporation effect on the West Indies and limit the rise in temperatures.

At the regional level, conditions are unfavorable to the development of convection at the Caribbean level and as a result, forecasts for a less active cyclone season than normal are confirmed.
