Haiti - May 1st : The road has claimed 36 lives in the country, in 14 accidents

The former Director of the National Ambulance Center, Garnel Michel Coordinator of the Haitian organization Technical and Operational Services for Accident Relief (STOP-Accidents), informs us that during the day of May 1, 2019, 14 road accidents have made 36 victims including 25 wounded, several with cranial trauma and 11 dead, 100% of whom are young.

Garnel Michel, who reiterated his appeal to the road users to be cautious, said that these accidents occurred in Petit-goâve (Tapion), Lillavois, Gérald Bataille, Montagne Noire, Good rest, Arcahaie, La Saline, Meyer, Léogâne and Turgeau.

This assessment was conducted in partnership with the National Ambulance Center and the Haitian Red Cross. However, due to a lack of resources, the STOP-Accident organization is unable to monitor the state of health of the wounded, some of whom die as a result of their injuries and are not counted.
