Haiti - Region of Palmes : New measures to increase revenue of the DGI

Tuesday, April 2, at the Louco Night Club of Petit-Goâve, Ernst Jean Brice, Director of the Office of the Directorate General of Taxes (DGI) of Petit-Goâve, Du Vallon Hippolyte the Director of the Office of the Insurance Agency Vehicle Counter Thirds (OAVCT), Police Commissioner of Petit-Goâve Julbert Conseillant, and the Representative of the Commissioner of Police of Grand-Goâve, Jean Panel Bourdeau among others, in the presence of among others Limongy Samson Jean Mayor of Petit-Goâve and his deputy Délor Desgranges, Judge Bellande Dumerzier and the Deputy Commissioner of the Government, gave a press conference to inform vehicle and motorcycle owners of the new measures adopted in the application of the law, in order to increase revenues. DGI.

Ernst Jean Brice presented the 3 steps of these measures:

1) The technical inspection of vehicles and motorcycles at Petit-Goâve police station;

2) The issuance of the Insurance Policy;

3) The granting of the License Plate.

In order to facilitate the successful completion of the technical verification operation, a schedule has been developed and vehicule and motorcycle owners will be required to report to the Region of Palmes from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm : Petit Goâve, Grand Goâve and Léoaaâne according to the following alphabetical order:

Names beginning with:

1) A, B, C: April 15, 2019

2) E, F, G, H: 17 and 18, April.

3) L, M, N: 24 and 25 April.

4) O, P, Q, R: 26 and 29 April

5) S, U, V: 30 and 31 April.

6) W, X, Y: April 31st and May 1st.

After this period, sanctions will be taken against all offenders.

In addition, Police Commissioner Julbert Counselor justified the merits of these measures by explaining that the decision to equip vehicles, the motorcycles of license plate and insurance policies will allow the police to better carry out their duties of control and ensure the security of the commune.
