Haiti - Martelly : "We are preparing the transition, the first 100 days..."
12/04/2011 15:45:30

Haiti - Martelly :

"We are preparing the transition, the first 100 days and the profile of the government, we are a responsible team, [...] we put the package to ensure the transition, establish the government and make the change that the population expect" declared Daniel Supplice, political advisor of President Michel Martelly.

"Our transition team is almost ready [...] We just wait that the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) make official the election results" added Michel Martelly. This should be done on April 16 and published in the official newspaper "Le Moniteur" no later than April 18, 2011.

"A new political generation" is in these words, that Edmond Mulet, the Representative of the Secretary General of the UN, described the vision of the new President of Haiti who keeps promising to act differently from the traditional politicians. Recalling that "a new generation of policies involves not only the head of state but also the legislators and leaders of political parties..."

Doing politics differently should be the leitmotif of the new members of the Haitian political class, "Young, modern and pro-active" are some adjectives claimed by the newly elected, wishing to stand out of the past. Time will tell if this "new political class" beyond words, will be able to integrate the modernity or not as expected.

Definitely, user of modern technologies, the new President sent Monday night, to the hundreds of thousands of people registered to the messaging netwwork "Tet kale" a SMS where Michel Martelly, asked them what they expect for the first 100 days of the new Government.
