Haiti - Politic : New parliamentary bloc at the Senate
This week, 5 Senators: Senator Dieudonné Étienne Luma (North) [the only woman in the Senate] and Senators Kedlaire Augustin (North-West), Jacques Sauveur Jean (Northeast), Willot Joseph (Center) and Wilfrid Gelin (Center) all members of PHTK (the ruling political party) formally announced to Senator Carl Murat Cantave, President of the Senate, the formation of a new parliamentary bloc called the "Group of Parliamentarians for the Strengthening of Democracy" (GPRD) and tabled a copy of its Constitutive Act.
The objective of the GPRD is to defend the priority interests of the Nation and to promote democracy and the rule of law in the country.
