Haiti - Culture : Many Haitian authors to the next  International Book Fair of Quebec
John Keyes, President of the Board, and Philippe Sauvageau, CEO, have unveiled on March 22 most of the programming of the next International Book Fair of Quebec, to be held to the Québec City Convention Centre from April 13 to 17, 2011. About 950 authors and 764 publishers will participate in the annual event which offers opportunities for discoveries and various forms of encounters between readers and authors.

Organized with the publisher "Éditions Mémoire d'encrier", a space will be dedicated to diversity and plurality of eclecticism. The Director of "Éditions Mémoire d'encrier", Rodney Saint-Eloi defines in his terms this new space "Plurality, dialogue, solidarity and convergence, these keywords will make their way in us. The space of the diversity offers this pluralistic vision and resolutely citizens of the culture and literature. Imaginary and shapes intersect to appeal to the breathtaking beauty of the world. Because beyond the literature, the fight for a fairer world is in the heart of our action."

The public will be able to meet authors who, mostly come from Africa and the Caribbean: Yara El-Ghadban (Palestine), Felwine Sarr (Senegal), Liliana Lazar (Romania), Thierno Monénembo (Guinea), Alain Mabanckou (Congo), Sofiaa Hadjadj (Algeria), Frankétienne (Haiti), Jean-Euphèle Milca (Haiti), Kettly Mars (Haiti), Gary Victor (Haiti) and Michel Soukar (Haiti).

Fankétienne will present "RappJazz : Journal d'un Paria", Milcé Jean-Euphèle with "Les jardins naissent", Kettly Mars with "Saison Sauvage", Gary Victor will present "Saison de porcs" and Michel Soukar "Cora Geffrard". All these authors invited will sign their books at the booth #264 (éditions Mémoire d'encrier)

Friday 15 at the Palais Montcalm, playwright and actor Frankétienne will play with Garnel Innocent, the play "Melovivi" written and performed in French and Creole by the writer and comedian Frankétienne and the comedian Garnel Innocent, will be a highlight. This piece, written two months before the earthquake of 2010 in Haiti, depicts two men locked in a place devastated by a disaster. Under the words of Frankétienne, this piece "with universal ecological dimension" apostrophe those responsible for planetary disasters. Melovivi means "trap" in Creole.
