Haiti - FLASH : Attack against the TNH, important material damages

The Ministry of Culture condemns the attack perpetrated Wednesday, February 13 against the National Television of Haiti in Delmas 33, where at least 6 vehicles and a mobile unit and two generators were burned by a "commando" of armed men faces masked by hoods.

Firefighters and police officers, who intervened a little late to avoid major damage, prevented the fire from spreading and the order was restored. An investigation was opened to identify the perpetrators and sponsors of this criminal act.

The Ministry is in solidarity with some 350 employees of the public television attacked in the course of their work, during these unfortunate events that caused significant damage in terms of loss of equipment to the TNH.

The Ministry takes this opportunity to condemn all recent violent initiatives in the country, while at the same time encouraging various forms of democratic expression and freedom of opinion.
