On Monday and Tuesday, the blocking situation of the Lycée Faustin Soulouque in Petit-Goâve was at the center of two meetings at the Ministry of National Education.

On Monday, Meniol Jeune, the Director General of the Ministry, Jean Nelson Pierre Coordinator of the Directorate General and Jackson Pléteau, the Cabinet Director of the Minister met an initiative committee composed of notables and heads of public institutions in order to take stock of the various problems affecting the smooth running of the Lycée Faustin Soulouque and the possible solutions to consider to unblock the situation.

On Tuesday 29th, Pierre Josué Agénor Cadet, Minister of National Education received a group of teachers and students from this Lycée with Senator Patrice Dumont who served as facilitator at this meeting.

The Minister Cadet reaffirmed his will to find a solution for the resumption of the Lycée courses and announced a set of proposals likely to allow the release of the situation with the comprehension of all the parts : payment of the wages of the teachers in the better delay, processing of the files of staff waiting for appointment respecting the criteria in the matter and the search for possible solutions for the payment of arrears, among others, are the envisaged provisions in order to meet the demands of teachers.

In the meantime, the Ministry is asking for a truce for strikers, for the resumption of classes by next Monday for the benefit of students...

Proposals which seemed to receive a favorable reception from the teachers present, who propose to meet the principal protagonists to inform them of the arrangements envisaged for a way out of the crisis.
