Yesterday Friday, Foreign Minister Bocchit Edmond went to the United Nations Security Council in New York to represent Haiti at the Ministerial Public Debate on the Impacts of Natural Disasters on International Peace and Security.

$4.4 million donation from Japan to Haiti for road construction and increased domestic production. Japan's Ambassador to Haiti Mitsuaki Misuno says the donation reflects his country's solidarity with Haiti as part of the good-neighborly relations between the two peoples. Minister of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Rural Development Jobert C. Angrand thanks Japan for this donation provided in the draft budget 2018-2019, which will help create conditions to facilitate the work of farmers.

Football : Cooperation, Argentina-Haiti

On Wednesday, January 23, 2019, the Chargé d'Affaires ai of the Embassy of the Republic of Haiti in Argentina, Dr. Guy Métayer, had a meeting with the former goalkeeper of the Argentine football team, Ubaldo Fillol, and former Uruguayan footballer Enzo Francescoli (two leaders of the prestigious Argentine club, River Plate), with the aim of developing a cooperation between River Plate and the Haitian Football Federation. During this very cordial and very open meeting, held at the El MONUMENTAL Stadium in Buenos Aires, the interlocutors agreed to launch this cooperation which provides, among other things, training courses for young Haitian footballers.
