Haiti - Petit-Goâve : Violent clashes between students at least 6 wounded !

Tuesday, January 15, for the second day in a row, Faustin Soulouque High School was the scene of violent clashes for more than two hours, between the students of the Lycée and those of Collège Pierre Baptiste with stones and fists. The high school students managed to enter the courtyard of the college Pierre Baptiste and attacked the school benches, while students of Pierre Baptiste went to the High School Faustin Soulouque and seized chairs to High School students who shouted revenge...

At least 6 high school students were injured while some schoolchildren of the Pierre Baptiste school were physically hit...

This clash occurred following the refusal of Pierre Baptiste students to bring their solidarity to high school students who claim since Monday the resumption of classes in the classroom, after the strike of some teachers (despite their promises https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-25191-haiti-petit-goave-promise-of-a-school-year-without-strike-at-lycee-faustin-soulouque.html ) claiming the payment of their salary arrears https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-26663-haiti-petit-goave-lycee-faustin-soulouque-closed-angry-students-demand-reopening.html

School activities were paralyzed to near 70% and several schools returned at home their students.
