Haiti - Social: The Haitian Yama Laurent elected Voice of Quebec, risk the expulsion of Canada

Yama Laurent (27) from Léogâne living in Montreal, after having upset the Quebec public and social networks by winning the 6th edition of the contest "La Voix" is now threatened with expulsion to Haiti, after the Federal government rejected his asylum application more than a year ago...

In accordance with the law, a person who can not obtain a permanent resident status of Canada can apply for humanitarian reasons, Yama Laurent has therefore submitted a humanitarian asylum application in the hope that she will be considered soon and favorably by the Canadian Government. Note that requests for humanitarian asylum apply only in exceptional cases, we hope that this is the case for our compatriot.

In the meantime, Yama is not in danger of being deported as long as her case is under review and she has a valid work permit, reassures her lawyer that Yama's integration into the community and her work is favorable elements in her request.
