Haiti - Football : Don Bosco wins the D1 National Championship for the 4th time

Following the match on December 23 Arcahaie FC vs Don Bosco, which did not allow to decide the winner for lack of lighting in the National Park of the flag of Arcahaie https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-26486-icihaiti-chfp-final-return-arcahaie-fc-vs-don-bosco-fc-no-winner.html , the Organizing Committee of the Haitian Professional Football Championship (COCHAFOP) the organizing body had decided in accordance with the rules that a support match of 2 periods of 45 minutes without extension, would be organized on Thursday, December 27 to decide between the two teams.

On Thursday, as planned, on the lawn of St. Marc's Levelt Park, the Don Bosco of Pétion-ville faced again Arcahaie FC for the grand finale of the National Championship of the First Division.

A match that kept all its promises and saw the Don Bosco crowned champion of the closing series of the D1 for the 4th time in its history (2003, 2014 and 2015), winning against the team of Arcahaie [2-1].

After the break, while the first period ended in a draw [0-0], Samuel Desroches, opened the mark at 54' to the benefit of the archelois [0-1] carried by the wind of the hope of victory. However, Jean Charles Canes equalized for Don Bosco at 67' [1-1]. Despite their efforts, the archelois did not manage to break through the defense of Don Bosco or to prevent the 88' the goal of the victory of Nael Wellofsky Elysee [2-1], score unchanged at the end of the regulatory time.

With this trophy, the Don Bosco succeeds the Sportive Capoise Association (ASC), winner of the opening phase. Don Bosco will face the ASC for the champion of champion crown, a match that promises to be exciting.
