Monday, November 26, as part of the Humanitarian Plan for an orderly return launched by the Chilean Government on October 17 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-25877-haiti-flash-chile-launches-its-free-voluntary-return-plan-to-haiti.html for the voluntary return of Haitians living today in Chile, a second flight of 170 Haitians will leave Chile to Port-au-Prince.

Remember that this program is aimed at compatriots, who have failed to settle in Chile, because they can not master the language, get used to the harsh climate or find a job, who came to Chile, encouraged by false promises of unscrupulous individuals who have made false promises against large sums of money and who no longer have the economic means to return to Haiti.

Among these voluntary returnees, there are 56 Haitians who could not fly on November 7 because they were not on the lists of convocation following a mess of the Chilean administration. Since this date this group is installed in the parish of Santa Cruz in expectation of the new flight.

Rodrigo Ubilla, Undersecretary of the Interior, stressed that to prevent this situation from happening again, e-mails and personalized messages were sent to warn everyone involved. Recalling "It has always been said that the first flight would be a pilot experience and that there would be an apprenticeship".

"There are currently 1,618 people enrolled in the program and 600 files reviewed," said Undersecretary Ubilla, who reminds all beneficiaries of this program "[...] we ask Haitians to realize that the Chilean State has taken the decision to help them, but all the rules must be respected."

Recall that Haitians in Chile, who wish to return to Haiti, can register since October 17 on the website of the Department of Immigration: https://tramites.extranjeria.gob.cl/etapas/ejecutar/2984

To qualify for this program, Haitians must not have a legal situation in progress and they must sign a notarized declaration in which they undertake not to return to Chile in the next 9 years. If migrants have a spouse, partner or children, they must complete the process jointly and travel in groups.
