Haiti - FLASH : NEHRO threatens to file a complaint against President Jovenel Moïse !

The New England Human Right Organization (NEHRO), a Boston-based international human rights organization, hails the people of Haiti for its massive participation across the country on November 18 in the great mobilization to demand that the light be shade on the use of the PetroCaribe Funds, despite the orchestrated intimidation campaign. NEHRO sends its sympathies to the families of those killed, wounded, illegally and arbitrarily arrested and detained during this day of protest and demands their unconditional release.

Moreover, NEHRO demands that the Police and Judicial Authorities promptly carry out an investigation to determine the perpetrators of acts of murder and violence perpetrated last week against citizens in the neighborhoods of La Saline and the slums of the metropolitan area.

the NEHRO specifies "In case of inaction or mutism of the Haitian authorities in the face of these acts detrimental to life and freedom committed in La Saline on November 13 and across the country on November 18, 2018 , NEHRO will formally lodge a complaint with the International Human Rights Institutions against President Jovenel Moïse, Prime Minister Jean-Henry Céant and Members of the High Command of the National Police as presumed contractors and the agents directly involved in the crackdown on peaceful protesters".

NEHRO encourages the Haitian people to remain mobilized to obtain in all peaceful ways the truth about the use of PetroCaribe funds and for the enjoyment of their civil and political rights.
