Haiti - FLASH : The Lavalas Party calls for the overthrow of the Government

Wednesday at a press conference, Maryse Narcisse the National Representative of the opposition party Fanmi Lavalas officially expressed the position of the Party on the crisis that prevailed in Haiti by launching a call for the overthrow of the Government, which in its view is in the incapacity to meet the needs of the population.

She is convinced that the mobilization of 18 November will be the proof that the population wants to take control of its destiny and that this national event will be the starting point which will provoke the change of Government demanded in recent months by several political sectors (of the Opposition) "At the demonstration on November 18, we will say goodbye to this unpopular system." A position that has not surprised anyone but that confirms that has not ceased to express Schiller Louidor the spokesman of the Political Committee of the Party.

According to Maryse Narcisse "The living condition of Haitians remains increasingly difficult given the deterioration of the national economy [...]" affirming that the Lavalas Party is alongside the population she urges to redouble the effort to rid the country of the current Government, which it describes as "obsolete".

Moreover, in a statement, the Political Commission of Famni Lavalas composed of the Deputy Bertrand SInal (President), the Deputy Joseph Manès Louis (Secretary) of the deputies members Roger Millien, Belizaire Printemps and Vikerson Garnier reacted on the case of the black and red flag hoisted in Vertières https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-26107-haiti-politic-pitit-dessalin-makes-an-affront-to-the-haitian-flag.html "[...] while nostalgic politicians abroad [in the diaspora] are promoting Nicolas Duvalier [...] here the black and red flag of François Duvalier is being promoted. Stop irritating the people, stop putting the people's struggle as a comedy [...]"

The Commission asks to remain vigilant and stresses "[...] Today the battle is not that of the color of the flag. The battle is to do what our ancestors did on November 18, 1803, to free the country from these 'tilolit' authorities. The battle is to put no matter the cost at the head of the country a power of transition so that we can make a PetroCaribe trial and a National Conference to establish in the country a good political system that will allow Haiti to really develop [...]"

The Political Commission of Famni Lavalas asks the population not to "fall into the trap of the division on the color of the flag, and to remain mobilized [...]"
