Haiti - Politic : Gary Bodeau calls for national dialogue !

The Deputy of Delmas Gary Bodeau, Speaker of the Lower House, who calls for a national dialogue to solve the problems faced by Haiti, says "the problem of the country is not a question of government, but of inefficiency of the system."

He also said the time was not right for a cabinet reshuffle, just a few months after the last changes https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-24186-haiti-flash-appointment-of-5-ministers.html and insisted that the best strategy would be to put on the table of controversial issues such as "the formation of the Permanent Electoral Council, energy and construction, the depreciation of the national currency, the reform of justice, the insecurity as well as the PetroCaribe file."

While radical opposition groups call to convert the demonstrations of 18 November, against the embezzlement of public funds, into "a battle" for the overthrow of President Moïse and his administration, Bodeau warned "In this chaos, no one will win. If anyone thinks that President Jovenel Moïse will leave the Palace, to take his place and dismiss the parliamentarians and magistrates, he lies to himself," recalling "we are the majority and we will not leave power [...] the only solution is the dialogue table."

According to the Deputy of Delmas the Head of State receives many criticisms and loses the trust of the population. He urged him to promote political discussions during which he will have to give up some of his positions. He is convinced that the establishment of a common and realistic agenda, as well as the realization of the national dialogue, would be starting points to mitigate the crisis in Haiti.
