Haiti - Politic : The opposition threatens to bring to justice Michel-Ange Gédeon !

The lawyers of the democratic and popular movement, which gathers about twenty political parties of the opposition, resulting from the agreement signed to the Arcahaie on August 19, 2017, envisage to bring a lawsuit against Michel Ange Gédeon, the Director General of the National Police of Haiti (PNH), if he does not take steps to facilitate the identification of police officers involved in acts of violence against citizens on 17 and 31 October 2018, during the demonstrations that made several dead and wounded.

"A request will be sent on the morning of this Friday, November 9, 2018 to the Director General of the PNH to ask him to take all the necessary administrative measures to facilitate the identification of the offending police and translate them in front of competent judicial bodies to be tried and punished in accordance with the law.

Otherwise, the Director General of the PNH, Michel Ange Gédeon, will personally be prosecuted both in terms of criminal law and disciplinary action before national and international bodies.

Later, the lawyers of the Democratic and Popular sector will seize the International Criminal Court to request an investigation on the serious crimes against humanity, committed in Haiti," informs Me André Michel in a note.
