Haiti - League of Nations : Training match, double victory for Grenadiers

Thursday evening in the framework of the League of Nations of the Confederation of North America, Central America and the Caribbean (CONCACAF) on the lawn of the stadium "Georges Gratiant" in Lamentin in Martinique, the Grenadiers played a training match against two local clubs of 1st Division the Colonial and Golden Star who agreed to be the Grenadiers' sparring-partners for 90 minutes (one half for each Club).

In the first period, against the Colonial Club, the starting 11 composed of : Johny Placide, Carlens Arcus, Jeremy Mechack, Jems Geffrard, Alex Christian Jr., Bryan Alceus, Zachary Herivaux, Soni Mustivar, Herold Charles Jr, Pierrot Frandzy and Derrick Étienne had no problem getting rid of this century-old club that was beaten [5-0] thanks to a hat-trick by Derrick Burckley Etienne Jr. (New York Red Bulls), at 3', 9' and 36' minutes. The other two goals were scored by Jems Geffrard (Rovaniemi Pollera, Montreal Canada) 43 '[4-0] and Hérold Charles Jr. (Cibao FC, Dominican Republic) [5-0]

In the second half against the Golden Star, coach Marc Collat has only replaced Jems Geffrard by Ricardo Adé. But before the freshness of Golden Star players Collat made other changes during the game to establish a little balance. Thus Charles Hérold Junior left his place to Jimmy Shammar Sanon at 58' then Johny Placide and Jérome Mechak at the 61' were replaced by Josué Duverger and Djimy-Bend Alexis respectively, before Ronaldo Damus be replaced Frandzy Pierrot in the Haitian attack.

Unlike the Colonial Club players, Golden Star's players were more disciplined and cleverly grouped together, they were very anxious not to lose and almost succeeded until the ball loss of a defender who took advantage of Jimmy Shammar Sanon (Ottawa Fury USL) who went to beat the goalkeeper to the 43' [1-0] a score that did not seem to bother the technical staff of Grenadiers who was more interested in the reaction of players who despite fatigue resisted and remained tactically disciplined.

After a day of recovery, our Grenadiers will start Saturday the final stretch of preparation for the CONCACAF League of Nations match. https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-23751-haiti-football-concacaf-launches-the-league-of-nations.html against St. Lucia scheduled October 16 at 20:15.
