Haiti - FLASH : The football family is in mourning

The young and talented football player Eden Claircius (28) aka "Pasteur" defender to AS Capoise (ASC), who had been victim of a terrible accident on the night of May 29, operated on June 6 at La Havane (Cuba) given the seriousness of his condition and while his health seemed to improve despite his paralysis, died Saturday at his home in Clercine (Port-au-Prince).

Sunday in a note, the Haitian Football Federation expresses all its emotion following the disappearance of this young player who plunges into sadness and mourning, the entire family of Haitian football.

Note of Sympathy and Condolence from the FHF :

"The news of the disappearance of the young defender of AS Capoise Eden Claircius has moved and touched all members of the football family.

It is cruel to leave so young, full of hope and full of dreams; it is painful and frustrating to lose one's life when one is dedicated to giving joy, therefore life, to a whole community.

The FHF has been supportive of the efforts and actions of the leaders of AS Capoise [National champion of the opening series of the D1 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-24522-haiti-football-chfp-2018-final-return-the-asc-retains-its-title-of-champion.html ], to save the life of the young footballer, share the pain of the members of his Club, his family, the players and capois fans and offer his condolences to all those affected by this painful drama, wishing that this tragedy that shakes the world of football and moves the entire population, serves as a warning and stimulant to the authorities of this country to put in place preventive measures to protect, guarantee the physical integrity and life of millions of Haitians of all ages who, for lack of better, are obliged to travel on motorcycles in their activities; the stagnation of one and the other causes Haitians of all ages to be mown from time to time and too often, plunging into the mourning and despair of hundreds of families; many of our footballers are among the victims and sometimes remain crippled or pass from life to death.

Nothing is worth a life; sport brings life; to us athletes to lead the campaign for this good cause that is the fight to prevent human tragedies caused by this scourge that has become the biggest cause of death in the country by putting in place strict regulations and observing it.

The FHF unites with the whole Haitian community to accompany and to stand in solidarity with the family of the young deceased and the AS Capoise in this painful moment."
