On Thursday, an agreement was signed by Makihara Takatomo, Director General of the international division of the Japanese firm Tokura Corporation and Meniol Jeune Director General of the Ministry of National Education for the construction of 12 fundamental schools, thanks to a funding of 20 million US dollars from the Japanese Government in the context of Haitian-Japanese cooperation in support of school infrastructure in Haiti.

The head of the Directorate of School Engineering (DGS), the engineer Ernst Bonnefil, said that the plans developed for the construction of these schools meet seismic and paracyclonic standards and have been approved by the DGS and the Ministry of Public Works.

These schools will be built at Crête-Brûlée, at Grand-Boucan (communal section of Mirebalais), to Cabral (communal section of Thomonde), at La Selle (communal section of Saut-d'Eau). Three schools will be built in Juanaria (communal section of Hinche), a school in Marmont (communal section of Hinche), two schools in Aguahedionde, fourth communal section of Hinche and two others in Désarmes, fourth communal section of Verrettes in Artibonite.

The sites should open before the opening of the academic year 2018-2019
