Haiti - Diaspora : Haitians are tired of being Air-France's cash cow

A group of Haitians living in Martinique denounces in a press release, the rates they consider exorbitant of airline tickets of the company Air France, which has the monopoly of the line between the West Indies and Port-au-Prince.

This group of the diaspora, cites as an example a family of 4 people including 3 children, who saw the total price of 4 tickets for Haiti to 3,000 euros while the same trip cost 1,500 euros the previous year. An example that is not isolated, Marie-Louise, Spokesperson for this collective mentions that the price of a ticket from August 18 to 24 to Port-au-Prince costs 1,300 euros on Air France, while to Paris, this ticket costs much less "There is a real problem !" she laments.

The Haitian Diaspora estimates that it is quite numerous in the Caribbean and that it often travels to Haiti so that Air France can offer better rates to Port-au-Prince within the reach of all budgets, and expresses its fed up to being considered the cash cow of this airline.

Moreover, the Haitian community describes the service of Air France as "mediocre", the reception of the staff sometimes bad and criticizes the arrival times in Port-au-Prince too late 6:00 pm, 7:00 pm or 8:00 pm highlighting that the company seems ignore the insecurity situation in Port-au-Prince.

The Collective is collecting signatures to bring its requests to the French airline and to obtain answers and find solutions.
