Premiere Urgence and the Air France Foundation inaugurate, Friday, March 11, 2011 at 10:30 am, the National School Carius Lhérisson in Port-au-Prince [80 impasse Durant in Fontamara 27], in the presence of all partners and the Ambassador of France in Haiti, Mr. Didier Le Bret.

The National School Carius Lhérisson hosts 2.500 schoolchildren from 5 to 16 years and include 19 classrooms, two of which were completely destroyed in the earthquake of January 12, 2010. The rest of the building was partially damaged. Significant work taking into account the international standards, anticyclonic and earthquake resistance, began in October 2010. The Air France Foundation, in partnership with Paris Match, the Fondation de France and Generali have assured the financing of this operation.

Dès l'annonce du tremblement de terre en Haïti le 12 Janvier 2010, la Fondation Air France a mobilisé et a lancé une collecte de fonds among its staff working with Air France-KLM and its subsidiaries. Thanks to the generosity of the employees of the enterprise, and several initiatives in France and abroad, more than 100,000 euros [US$ 140.000 ±] that have been collected.

But in preview of the official opening, Air France and Air France Foundation wanted to celebrate this event with the children of the school Lhérisson Carius. Also this Thursday, March 10 from 9:30am to 3:30pm a great day recreational, with shows, entertainment, snacks, gifts, will be organized for the 2500 children of the school. Throughout the day, the personalities present (representatives of Foundations, Ambassador of France...) and Haitian artists like Belo and Jean Jean Roosevelt will participate in various activities.
