Wednesday at 6:00 am, on the orders of Lieutenant General Máximo William Muñoz Delgado, Director General of the Directorate General of Migration (DGM) a vast operation of migration control, was launched in the municipalities and rural areas of the border provinces of Montecristi, Dajabón, Elías Piña, Independencia and Pedernales. This large-scale operation involved more than 100 agents, inspectors and supervisors of the DGM supported by nearly 200 members of the armed forces, the specialized body of border security (CESFRONT) and representatives of the Public Ministry of each of the border provinces in coordination with the Governors.

These actions carried out simultaneously throughout the day, allowed to control the migratory status of 1,019 foreigners, most Haitians by using biometric devices to check the immigration status and the legality of the documents of the Plan National of Regularization of Foreigners (PNRE) presented by the Haitians, most of these documents being false

At the end of the verification process 692 Haitians in an irregular situation in the Dominican territory were transported to the border posts of Dajabón, Elías Piña, Pedernales and Independencia, to be registered there before being expelled to Haiti.

According to some informed observers who are following the strategic evolution and the multiplication of the DGM's control operations, this expanded synchronized operation in several provinces could be a "small scale" repetition of a simultaneous and coordinated operation on a large scale on the entire Dominican territory. Operation that could be triggered after the month of August, when the PNRE finally ends, exposing more than 100,000 of our compatriots who were unable to obtain a temporary regularization, for lack of a passport that Haiti has promised them for years without ever delivering them...
