Obtaining a passport from consular services for Haitians living abroad becomes more and more difficult every day. For several weeks now, passport delivery times have been increasing by up to 4 months, which is not without serious problems for Haitians who have to travel, for business or for tourism. According to our information the consulates would not have enough booklets to cope with increased demand on the eve of the summer season.

Some claimants report that unless you have strong relationships, obtaining a passport within a reasonable time is no longer possible. In several consulates, the emergency passport delivery service would have even stopped working.

The Haitian Government is always ready to hold a demagogic political speech when it comes to boasting the new equipment, the production capacity, the reduction of the delays for the delivery of this precious sesame and to affirm that the time of the shortage is finished, remains so far officially silent on the reasons for this situation... A situation that should soon affect passport delivery centers in Haiti ...

According to unofficial information, this lack of booklet will be due to an unpaid debt of Haiti to the German supplier responsible for manufacturing Haitian passports.
