Haiti - Social : Dance and stage play against gender violence

Until June 6, 2018, the Haitian choreographer, Kettly Noël, creator of "Tichèlbè", a contemporary dance show that deals with the status of women, the body of women in the public space and its report to men (Prix RFI-danse 2003 and 3rd Prize at the 5th Choreographic Encounters of Africa and the Indian Ocean) organizes introductory workshops on contemporary dance and theatrical interpretation against gender violence (May 24 - June 6), intended for young people from the neighborhoods of Bel Air, Cité Soleil and Carrefour but also Pétion-ville and Delmas because violence knows no geographical or social boundaries.

An educational and artistic initiative that reaches young people from all walks of life in Port-au-Prince and has chosen to support the United Nations Mission for the Support of Justice in Haiti (Minujusth).

For Kettly Noël, the goal is to educate girls and boys about gender-based violence. Through dance and stage play, Kettly Noël aims to get young people to become aware of the mechanisms of male domination. To provoke in each one a reflection on the machismo stereotypes at the heart of the acts of gender-based violence during each workshop which offers the opportunity to confront the bodies, the attitudes and the behaviors.

An artistic approach committed to this new generation, actress of social change, to stop the mechanisms of violence.
