Haiti - Politic : Hurricane season «objective zero death»
Friday, June 1 at Fort-Liberté (North-East), Jean Marie Reynaldo Brunet, the Minister of the Interior and Territorial Communities, accompanied by Régine Lamur, Minister of Youth and Sports, Departmental Delegate, Yrline Cadet and the Director of Civil Protection, Jerry Chandler has marked during a ceremony, the beginning of the 2018 hurricane season around the theme "Fanm kou gason, youn ede lòt pare".
In his remarks, Minister Brunet stressed the need for the Directorate of Civil Protection (DPC) to continue to develop a culture of risk management as Haiti is located on the trajectory of hurricanes. To this end, he underlined the many awareness-raising and educational activities in schools as well as in the media of the country's various departments.
In addition, he called on the partner institutions of the National Risk Management System to consolidate their strategies and actions in support of the State's efforts and said he counted on this synergy to achieve the "objective zero death", for this 2018 season which ends on November 30th https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-24508-haiti-security-2018-hurricane-season-prospects-and-probabilities.html "The Haitian citizen and his property are now a priority for the Haitian state."
Brunet invited the population to solidarity and to be the first civil protection agents, by respecting the safety instructions of the constituted authorities.
