Haiti - Football : High-level official visit of CONCACAF

On Thursday, a high-level delegation from the Confederation of North Central America and Caribbean Football (CONCACAF) arrived at 4:30 pm in Haiti for a 24-hour official visit.

Friday morning, the delegation led by the President of the Confederation Victor Montagliani, also Vice President of FIFA accompanied by Marco Leal, Director of the Department of National Associations and personal assistant of the President and also an old friend of Haiti and Eric Labrador, Vice-President of the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) and President of the Puerto Rican Football Federation, will give a press briefing at noon at the Jean Vorbe building, headquarters of the Haitian Football Federation (FHF) at the Croix des bouquets.

This visit of President Montagliani is part of the rapprochement with the member Federations and associations and continue to share with them his vision "ONE CONCACAF", which aims to revitalize and redo the union and regain the credibility of the association after the turbulence that has shaken it in recent years.

During his brief stay in the country, Montagliani will meet with the leaders of the FHF on many projects of the Confederation possibly on the League of Nations of CONCACAF which should be launched next September; on the recent launch of competitions to professionalize Caribbean clubs and also on women's competitions including the upcoming World League of Nations Women.

Recall that since its election to the Presidency of CONCACAF (largely supported by Haiti) Concacaf has provided an over-supplemented assistance to the Federations of the zone by taking charge almost entirely of the financing of the organization of competitions regional official.

Thus CONCACAF has helped Haiti by advancing in 2016 and 2017 non-refundable funds for the participation and travel of national selections to international competitions such as the 2017 Gold Cup, the qualifying rounds of the Russia 2018 world, the participation of our U-17 Grenadiers at the U-15 championship in Orlando, the 2018 Gold Cup qualifiers, the payment of hotel fees for the preliminary U-17 and U-20 girls tournaments in Port au Prince.

"Without these interventions the good results of all our national teams would not have been possible," says the FHF.
